Renew Labor, Delivery, Post-Partum

(Fort Polk, LA)

As part of the growing movement of having cross-trained professionals and providing more comprehensive labor & delivery service to newborns and new mothers, KB was contracted to convert a Labor & Delivery area into a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, & Post-Partum area, otherwise known as LDRP. This required KB to renovate over 11,000 SF of space on the 4th Floor of Bayne-Jones Community Hospital to create a Recovery and Post-Partum area within the Labor & Delivery hospital unit.

To facilitate this hospital conversion, KB provided a swing space on the 2nd Floor of the hospital to act as a temporary space. As part of our renewal on the 4th Floor, KB demolished the interior partitions and removed all finishes. Some of the infrastructure system – mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas – were removed and replaced. These replacements occurred on the 3rd Floor and had to be coordinated with care so as not to disrupt hospital across three floors – something that would have been of enormous inconvenience to the customer. The 4th Floor renewal upon completion provides complete LDRP services with upgrades finishes and first-class care to new mothers and their newborns.
