Women’s Health Clinic

(Fort Campbell, KY)

KB provided all services to renovate the Women’s Health Clinic at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in Fort Campbell, KY. The project involved taking three women’s health functions:  Women’s Outpatient Clinic, Labor/Delivery/Recovery, and the Mother Baby Unit, and consolidating these services to combine the Women’s Health Clinic to the second floor of the hospital. The completed Women’s Health Clinic occupies the entire west portion of the second floor and part of the east wing.

The areas were renovated consecutively to allow for one area on another floor to be used as a transition area for the function under construction. KB began with the Mother Baby Nursing Unit. Renewal work consisted of renovating the existing administrative and bedroom space in the west section into 5 one patient bedrooms, 7 two-patient bedrooms, and 2 isolation rooms

The Labor, Delivery, Recovery area was renovated next. After staff transitioned to the retrofitted swing space, KB renewed the area to house 7 Labor, Delivery, and Recovery rooms and 2 C-Section rooms. The C-Section rooms each had two swing surgical light and articulating surgical columns installed. Next to the surgical areas KB constructed 3 recovery rooms.

Last of the three renovations was the creation of the Outpatient Clinic, which was constructed in the location formerly occupied by the Labor, Delivery, Recovery area. Work consisted of renovating the southwest portion of the building into 72 rooms and 7 corridors to accommodate Dermatology, Pre-admissions consultation, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurology. Gastroenterology and administrative support.

In total nearly 40,000 SF of space was renovated of the 495,00 SF facility to created a comprehensive Women’s Health area to provide multiple patient services.
