Dental Clinic #1

(Fort Carson, CO)

KB has been a leader in renovating Dental Clinics for the U.S. Army, and this project showed again what makes Kirlin Builders a standard-bearer for providing renewed dental care spaces for patients and staff. The existing building, constructed in 1976, totaled 14,195 SF with a partial crawl space below the Dental Treatment Rooms.  The existing layout was fairly typical for a series of dental clinics constructed during that period.  The space included an Oral Surgery wing, four sets of enclosed Dental Treatment Rooms with in-room x-ray capability and three dental treatment chairs.

The overall layout provided the clinic with 2 two-chair open bay Dental Hygienist treatment rooms and 8 two-chair dental Dental Treatment Rooms, a two-chair closed room for Endodontics, and a two-chair room for Oral Surgery for a total of 24 chairs.  The clinic also was provided a Panorex/Intra-Oral X-ray Suite, Prosthetics Lab, Dental CMS Suite, Locker Rooms, dividable Staff Lounge/Conference Room, Administrative Offices, and a Waiting Area.  To fully transform the look of the building, KB constructed a 700 SF addition to provide an entry vestibule and to locate the Reception and Patient Records Room. A new standing seam metal roof was also installed.
