Radiology Clinic

(Fort Huachuca, AZ)

Kirlin Builders completed a renewal of the Radiology Clinic and existing Tri-Care Services at Raymond W. Bliss Army Health Center at Fort Huachuca. In total, Kirlin Builders transformed approximately 5,500 SF of hospital space in the over 110,000 SF medical services center just outside Tucson. Work on this project included updating all architectural finishes throughout and updating the building infrastructure to bring it up to current Army standards and Federal codes. Joint Commission standards were followed during renewing of the Radiology Clinic.

Of particular note for this project was that there was already a partially completed design that had to be validated and completed before construction commenced. With in-house design entity BMH Engineering overseeing design management, Kirlin Builders validated a majority of the existing design and completed a “For Construction” design package.

To facilitate the clinic renewal, Kirlin Builders provided a transition space to house personnel to expedite construction. After setting the transition space and moving the Radiology Clinic staff in, KB set out to demolish the entire Radiology and Tri-Care Services areas. The shielded walls were kept intact in the Radiology Clinic to preserve them for the new X-Ray equipment.

The Radiology and Tri-Care Services department is now a fully renewed and operational space with new finishes, updated electrical and plumbing components, new fire suppression system, and a modern, energy-efficient mechanical system with a new AHU system and split main supply ductwork that provides the ideal level of heating, cooling, and air conditioning coverage. The new settings provides a more positive patient care environment with greater comfort for clinic staff to conduct first class healthcare services.
